I was actually wondering something more specific to this place. I understand you've actually managed to procure a sword here, and I wanted to ask how - whether it was by means of playing the "game", or if you found another option.
[Is he resigned to probably having to fuck his way to arming himself? Yes. Will he jump on an alternate option, should one become available? Also yes.]
[ Toma can’t see it, but poor Rokurou deflates at the mention of the two pathetic swords he’s managed to get while in the resort. Not because there was a problem with the sources themselves; it was all his own shit luck. ]
I got one for my birthday - but I don’t even want to talk about that one. You can’t rely on the house giving you a decent gift anyway.
The second is more reliable, but the guy’s a weirdo. The French guy that runs this shady bar that changes locations will gamble with you for things like weapons. If you beat him, you can probably get one. But you can’t trust him either. I wasn’t specific and he gave me a sword with performance anxiety, it goes soft when other people are watching.
But it’s my own fault. I should have specified that I wanted a normal sword, I guess? Damn tricksters. Obviously anyone asking for a sword wants a usable one!
One would think it would be that simple, wouldn't they... I'll bear in mind, then, to be cautious with my words. And to be ready for disappointment, all the same.
[How's a guy supposed to get a murder weapon around here, huh!! Is he just going to have to do everything with his bare hands!!]
[...He considers, for a moment, if he should lie, but... Makoto knows what he's up to, and this guy knows it was Makoto who sent Toma here. There would be little point to claiming he just wants it for training, only for him to be so easily able to find out the truth.
Besides - he asked so casually, Toma sort of doubts he'll be particularly scandalized by the answer.]

[Doesn't need to sleep much... interesting.]

[If that's the one he's willing to talk about, Toma dreads to imagine what might be wrong with the "birthday present".]

Why are you looking for a sword? Are you planning on training? Or is there someone you want to kill?

The latter.

Well, who knows. Maybe someone does and just hasn't confessed as much.

Good luck in your sword quest! If I find any good leads, I'll let you know.
