Only cooked into dishes. Not candied. I don't like sweets that much. But sweet potatoes are easy to grow from my understanding, so they're worth the investment.
Hm … pretty much whenever. Aside from training, I don’t have much purpose here. I don’t need much sleep either. It’s uneventful enough that I could almost read if the books weren’t all blank.
Purposeless and weaponless. This place really isn’t made for guys like us.
I agree. I could use some work on differentiating illusions too, now that my senses are dulled… I’m still unhappy about what happened at the mall. I suppose I should look at it as pointing out my weaknesses.
You’re on. Somewhere with good terrain - how about the cemetery?
What were you capable of sensing before you came here? As for illusions, I may be able to help. It's a specialization of mine. But I don't know how well that skill will transfer.
The park, not the cemetery.
[He doesn't want to destroy someone's grave by accident, illusory or not, that's disrespectful...]
I’m not incapable now, but all my general senses are sharper than a human’s. For example, seeing through the dark is easy—but not here. I’d be able to follow your scent for a while back home, but here, I get a few blocks after you. Like that. I‘ve fought against a master of illusions back home, so I’m not unfamiliar, but it’s the same. Noticing came much too late.
Suppression from the city feels like a poor excuse. I need to get stronger.
A specialization, huh? I’m interested. Throw whatever you have at me.
I see. I've met individuals with similar abilities, although typically due to an animal contract. [Are you part animal, bro.] It must be useful for tracking.
I have a genetic advantage. My eyes allow me to perceive what others can't, including illusions. Still, like everyone else I'm weakened here. I believe it's what allowed me to fall for the trick in the mall the first time. Normally it wouldn't be an issue.
I could probably create illusions for you to practice on.
[ Casually mention following Sasuke around and not get rejected? Awesome. That’s the same as tacit permission to keep doing so. ]
I don’t know about animal contracts, [ so that’s a no he is no dog ] but it is useful. If anything is a double-edged sword, it’s the sensitivity to touch. When people kick me out of bed, for example.
Got it. Even if your skill is weakened, I’d like to practice. Maybe using it will help you regain some strength too. If you can’t, hand-to-hand alone is fine.
It wasn't enough to cause you injury. You're stronger than that. But I didn't know the sensitivity was so severe. When you say touch, do you mean skin contact? Or force?
My advantage is called a kekkei genkai — bloodline limit. More literally, my eyes are inherited through my blood and evolve with experience. You've probably noticed they were strange. Those who have fought against eyes like mine in the past would suggest not making eye contact. You don't need to worry about the specifics, since it won't matter here.
Haha. You're right, I'm durable. It's the former, I'm resilient against force but sensitive to touch. A little strange ... that's just how I'm built now, for the sake of thralling on the battlefield. That said, I like touching off of it—people, things. Feels good.
Really? I didn't think they're strange, just different. I looked because I thought they were interesting—in a good way. So, a skill that involves eye contact ... that sounds tricky to fight. I'm getting excited just thinking about it. Don't hold back on me, alright? Break my bones if you can.

Haha, thanks. My mother would roll in her grave if I came across as uneducated.
So you are not doing anything?

I'm at the store. Is there anything you need?

Want to train with me? When you have time.

I'm still at the store if you need something that isn't a weapon.

—do they have sweet potatoes?

Also, I'm making food tonight but the portion size is too large for one person. I'll bring you the leftovers.

Ah, really? It’s my lucky day. Thanks!

At least if we train together, we'll be prepared when something happens again. I think it's only a matter of time.
How about later tonight?

Oh? Alright, you’re the boss.

How does it work? Your advantage.
